Complete reconstruction of the fire resistance testing chambers took place

We would like to inform you about our recent activities which could lead to improvement of quality of our services.

Full reconstruction of horizontal testing furnaces and vertical testing furnace (3 x 3) m

Delivering of quality and trustworthy service is considered in our company to be the most important. In fire resistance testing area, this aim is essentially influenced by excellent technical condition of all our equipment.

It is a matter of course that we regularly do technical maintenance, safety maintenance and calibration of all our equipment. We do these activities systematically in compliance with our Quality manual. In 2011 we do repair work above the scope of our common maintenance – we do full reconstruction of our three testing furnaces.

We have already successfully finished full reconstruction of testing furnace No. 2 (testing furnace for fire resistance testing of horizontal building constructions). This testing furnace has already been put into usual operation. Next we are going to do the reconstruction of the second horizontal testing furnace and our first vertical testing furnace with dimensions of opening (3 x 3) m.

All the reconstruction works should be finished in December 2011 and we tried to schedule them in such a way that they would affect and restrict the operation of the fire resistance testing laboratory for the necessary time only. We would be glad to provide carrying out of the fire resistance tests for our customers as soon as possible and without delay also in this year. We believe that we manage to cope with all reconstruction works during normal operation of fire resistance testing laboratory and our effort will be rewarded by satisfaction of our customers with quality of our services!

Our new equipment

In addition to systematic maintenance of our equipment, at the beginning of this year we purchased new equipment, which – as we hope – will contribute to better and faster provision of our services to customers.

We have changed our previous loader for the new one, loader LOCUST L 1203 Telspeed, with efficient telescopic arm which can be equipped with a wide range of attachments. Its great advantage is gear with two speeds (all the time without need to stop) which allows faster movement and work of the machine.

We purchased also the new cooler, which we exploit mainly when testing fire resistance of ducts and smoke control dampers.

Easier access to FIRES from May 2011

We are delighted to announce that company Czech Airlines launched in May 2011 a new air line Prague – Tatry (Poprad).

Airport Tatry in Poprad is only approximately 13 km far from Batizovce and FIRES is easy to reach from there. International airport in Prague – on account of its location in the centre of Europe – is an important transit hub which offers the passengers the choice of approximately 50 airlines connecting Prague with destinations worldwide by direct scheduled flights. In order to inform you entirely, below we are providing you with the timetable of the new air line. This timetable was supplied by staff of our business partner, company Skyport s.r.o., Poprad, who will gladly provide you with more detailed information about this air line.

Accommodation for visitors of FIRES

From May 2011, we are able to provide for discounted accommodation rates also in mountain hotel Sliezsky dom, which is the highest situated hotel in Slovakia – 1670 meters above sea level (http://www.sliezskydom.sk/).

FIRES was a partner of the 9th International Conference FIRECO 2011

The 9th International Conference FIRECO 2011 under the patronage of Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic was held at exhibition area of EXPO CENTER in Trenčín, Slovakia from 04th May till 05th May 2011. Company FIRES was one of the conference partners. The main topic of the conference this year was Fire safety and liquidation of emergencies in buildings with assembling areas.

The contributions were presented for audience of 313 participants by experts coming from Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia and Croatia.

Besides loads of expert, technical information and practical demonstration of work with extinguishing equipment, the participants had many possibilities to talk to their colleagues and experts from the same professional area. We are glad that we could support such a successful event!
